St Michael and All Angels Stoke Prior

Hanbury Road, Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove Stoke Prior Bromsgrove
07902 098500

This beautiful Grade 1 listed church was built from 1140, possibly on the site of an earlier church. It still retains a number of late Norman features. The tower was built c1200, with the spire added much later. There was a major Victorian restoration in 1894-5, paid for by John Corbett who owned the Salt Works at Stoke Works and lived at Chateau Impney in Droitwich. The guidebook available in the church gives many details about the history of the church.

More recently the church once again underwent major restoration to repair the tower and the chancel roof. A new glass vestibule with automatic doors was fitted to the west door in order to make access to the church easier. The font was also re-located to the opposite side of the south door entrance. This was thanks to a huge fundraising campaign led by the Friends of Stoke Prior Church and the many generous donations given by local business and residents.

St Michael's and All Angels is one of a group of three churches (the others being at Wychbold and Upton Warren) in the Parish of Bromsgrove.

Please note that most Sunday services here are in the evening.
